Belly Dancing
is a gentle and expressive way of keeping fit and improving flexibility and co-ordination. It provides an all-over workout without being physically exhausting and can induce feelings of well-being and exhilaration. Anisa’s classes are suitable for women of all ages and fitness levels and are friendly and relaxed. Numbers are kept low to ensure that real teaching can take place. Anisa teaches Egyptian Folk, Baladi, and Classical styles and stick and veil technique.Students are allowed to develop their skills at their own pace.
BEGINNERS CLASSES
Open to all ages and fitness levels. Each class includes a gentle warm-up, tuition in the basic movements of Egyptian Belly Dance and a simple combination of movements. Students will also learn basic veil technique .
IMPROVERS CLASSES
Open to anyone who has mastered the basics of Egyptian Belly Dance. Classes include a warm-up, practise of moves and steps, exploration of different styles such as “New Cairo” and work on a choreography. Veil and stick dancing are taught regularly. We also work on group dances for the end of term Hafla to which all class members and their friends and families are invited . Whilst there is no obligation to perform at any event, many group members enjoy the opportunity to develop their performing skills.
